The Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA) is proud to announce the return of its Career Exploration Program for the third consecutive year. This engaging summer initiative offers high school students a unique, behind-the-scenes look at the essential services that keep our community running.
During the five-day program, participants will explore the dynamic world of utilities and environmental services through hands-on experiences and interactive learning opportunities. Students will gain insight into:
Drinking water systems and treatment processes
Wastewater collection and treatment technology
Sanitation and recycling operations
The program is designed to introduce students to rewarding and often overlooked career paths in public utilities, environmental services, engineering, operations, and public service. By connecting students directly with industry professionals and real-world facilities, ECUA aims to inspire the next generation of leaders in infrastructure and environmental stewardship.
“Programs like this help students see the vital role utilities play in protecting public health and the environment in our community,” says Sigrid Rehrig, Public Information Specialist for the Emerald Coast Utilities Authority. “We’re excited to open our doors once again and showcase the work that ECUA does and the meaningful career opportunities available right here in our community.”
